Stanford Summer Jazz Series: Erik Jekabson’s New Orleans Quintet

Local music fans are gearing up for warm weather and smooth sounds with the arrival of Stanford Shopping Center’s Summer Jazz Series. Performing in the 25th year of the popular, free jazz series are artists such as Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Times 4 and Le Jazz Hot Quartet.

The ten-week concert series is hosted by Stanford Shopping Center and produced by SFJAZZ, a leading non-profit jazz organization on the West Coast .

Erik Jekabson’s New Orleans Quintet – June 30
Trumpeter Erik Jekabson and vocalist extraordinaire Kenny Washington team up with a top-notch band to play classic New Orleans Jazz. Kenny is a New Orleans native and Erik spent four years in the Crescent City, so you can expect some soulful and swinging sounds as they play both standard traditional tunes and some lesser-known gems.
