Fans of reading and a certain galaxy far, far away have reason to rejoice: Star Wars Reads Day, a day-long celebration of literacy and Jedi, Sith, Wookiees, and all things Star Wars, is returning on October 11, 2014.

Star Wars fans, authors, and artists are coming together for events nationwide and all over the Bay Area. Some events feature Star Wars characters, readings, trivia, and giveaways.

  • Friday, October 10, 2014: Books Inc. Mountain View, 301 Castro St, Mountain View
    Event time: 7 pm
    Books Inc. Mountain View celebrates Star Wars Reads Day 2014 with deputy editor of “Mashable,” the world’s largest social media and technology news website, Chris Taylor and How Star Wars Conquered the Universe: The Past, Present, and Future of a Multibillion Dollar Franchise. “The first book to examine the entire Star Wars brand from a business/culture perspective,” this colorful and energetic book examines explains how a young filmmaker’s fragile dream beat out a surprising number of rivals to gain a diehard, multigenerational fan base.
