Event Details

Join the Silk Road Dabke Troupe, Palestinian Youth Movement, and Aljuthoor for an evening of traditional and contemporary dance, stories, you produced digital narratives, and cultural resistance, in commemoration of the Nakba, “catastrophe,” and in response to xenophobic political discourse demonizing immigrants and refugees.

Bring a can of food and support other Mission High Students collecting food for Yemen, as part of the Feed Yemen campaign

The Silk Road Dabke Troupe is group of high school aged youth from different national and religious backgrounds along the historic “Silk Road,” who come together to dance the Dabke. Dabke is a traditional folk dance in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq that is today used as form of cultural remembering and resistance against colonization and erasure in Palestine, and elsewhere.
