Strangers: 2-day publishing project with local writers and designers | Levi’s Workshops

On August 6 2010, a group of young Bay Area artists, will meet to produce content for a book about the content they produce. Some of the artists involved know each other very well, some have never met face to face, some have met only because of this project and some artists will arrive the day of, as total strangers. Many ideas will be discussed amongst the group, in the months prior, as to how or what content will be produced for the book, but none will be precisely decided upon until the strangers meet.

The following day, August 7 2010, a book will materialize everything that occurred the previous day amongst a group of friends, artists, and strangers. Join us at the Print Shop

About Levi’s Workshops: Located in San Francisco’s iconic Mission District (home to one of the first Levi’s factories), we’ve opened up a community print shop. During July and August 2010 we’ll be hard at work teaching classes on classic letterpress machinery, screenprinting designs, setting type, and getting our hands dirty.

After receiving nearly 100 entries, Levi Strauss & Co. is ready to declare a winner of the Care to Air Design Challenge and unveil the most innovation, covetable and sustainable air-drying solution for clothing.
