Event Details

For the sixth year in a row, amateur and professional musicians perform for free all day in stores, cafes, street corners, and parking lots. Come enjoy the music at sites along MacArthur Boulevard, between 35th Avenue and High Street, in Oakland’s Laurel neighborhood. The Summer Solstice Music Festival will have musicians from all over the Bay Area playing a range of musical genres. From rock, to reggae, to jazz, to soul, to hip-hop, to surf rock, to folk, to indie, there’s a little bit of music to soothe the soul from young to old.

This year the Festival will partner with the Turfin 24/7 Dance Tournament with turf dancing along MacArthur from 10am to noon prior to the actual tournament at the Allendale Rec. Center (3711 Suter St.) a few blocks away.

The events are free and fun for all ages so stop by any time that day to help us Make Music in the Laurel!
