Sunday Assembly: Communty Sing & Meetup | Berkeley

Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation that celebrates life. They’ve got the best parts of a church – community, singing, and acts of service – without any of the religious dogma.

They typically meet on the third Sunday of the month to sing, think, listen, laugh, and build community together. They feature speakers from the local science and humanities communities, and they typically offer a way to donate to a local organization.

The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation started in 2012 by two comedians and performers in England. It is a growing global network of people with the motto to “Live Better. Help Often. Wonder More.”

The guest speaker is Lynice Pinkard and her theme is about building community. She will discuss barriers to community and ways to overcome them. She currently serves as a volunteer and Board member of the food-aid organization Share First Oakland and the community-training institute Seminary of the Street. She also works as a hospital chaplain in the East Bay.
