“Sunday Streets 2019” Street Festival & Block Party | SF
On July 14, Sunday Streets returns to the sunny Mission district for a second round of car-free streets, from Duboce Ave to 26th St, Valencia Street transforms into to an open community space for all to enjoy.
In a neighborhood with a high concentration of children and families, Sunday Streets provides much-needed open space for kids to run, bike and play. Roll, walk or pedal to institutions like The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts and Poder, or longtime businesses like taqueria Puerto Alegre and Dog Eared Books.
Despite changing demographics, the densely-populated Mission remains home to a large Latino population and a high number of small immigrant-owned businesses. Multiple bus lines and two BART stations make the Mission a transit hub, and popular restaurants and clubs draw patrons from across the Bay Area.
