Event Details

Featuring paintings by Ian Hagarty, Leah James, Roberto Jamora, Caroline Larsen, Adam Mignanelli, Jason Stopa and Russell Tyler.

Fouladi Projects is pleased to present an exhibition of new paintings by a community of young NYC artists who are connected to each other by a collective interest in textural abstraction. Organized by Brooklyn based artist Russell Tyler, the works on view utilize impasto paint, irreverent patterns and wild colors as unifying themes. Some are sensuous and tactile, in some the paint is brushed, dripped, squeegeed, scraped and squeezed right out of the tube. Surface Matters investigates the rich and refreshing results that can be achieved when the focus of the painting is tuned towards the paint itself.

Opening Reception for the artists Friday July 17th, 6 to 8pm. Show is on view through August 29th, 2015
