Cancelled: “Swap-O-Rama-Rama” DIY Workshop & Clothing Swap | Oakland

Please note, Swap-O-Rama-Rama is no longer taking place.

Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a nonprofit community clothing swap with a do-it-yourself workshop in which attendees explore the process of reuse and collective creativity together.

Every third Saturday of the month (except for May when they’re at the Maker Faire), they host a meetup where they encourage beginners to experts alike to come, bring clothes and ideas, and swap it like it’s hot. Share and learn ideas of how to repurpose anything and everything into clothing, home decor, and beyond.

Bring clothes to swap and join up for the December 2013 project: fabric applique holiday greeting cards. This is a good beginner project on the sewing machine.

Please Bring:
Clothes to swap (women, mens, kids, all sizes)
Reusable cardstock (to use as card base: cereal boxes, concert flyers, junk mail, etc)

They will supply:
Sewing machines
Sewing tools like thread, scissors, etc.

And of course, The Crafty Avenger will be joining in with a secret project you will have to attend to discover.
