The First Official “Tamale Lady Day” Celebration | Zeitgeist

Let’s join together to celebrate one of San Francisco’s true icons, who passed way last year. The beloved Virginia Ramos (aka “The Tamale Lady”) passed away in September of 2018 after years of selling her homemade tamales at bars like Lucky 13, Elbo Room and Zeitgeist.

And the promoters say, “There might even be some tamales to eat!”

This first annual “Tamale Lady Day” takes place June 22, 2019 from 2pm to 10pm at Zeitgeist filled with bands, an official proclamation from City Hall and outdoor movie tribute documentary to the Tamale Lady.

Tamale Lady Day Schedule

• Live Music 2pm to 10pm
• Official “Tamale Lady Day” Resolution Presentation 7:45pm
• Screening of “Our Lady of Tamale” 8pm
