The Texas Tourism Board brings its roadshow to San Francisco to is put together a virtual Texas vacation in Justin Herman Plaza called “Texas On Tour” with free fun events and activities to help promote travel to the Lone Star State. Thursday, August 5, 2010 – 8am to 7pm.
Explore the Texas coastline on a virtual beach, watch a film and play Texas trivia inside the domed theater, take part in a virtual kayaking adventure and lots more fun and games. Basically this is Texas’ attempt to market to you and get you to come visit the state, but who cares – free fun is free fun, so enjoy.
Texas on Tour, a high-tech, interactive, mobile marketing exhibit will be at Justin Herman Plaza featuring virtual reality, a 30-foot dome enclosed theater, green screen video and photography, interactive games, live music and more.
Visitors can:
Mingle with Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on August 5.
Marvel at demonstrations by 2008 champion trick roper Kevin Fitzpatrick from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on August 4 and 5.
Observe a sand castle sculptor throughout each day from August 3-5.
Kayak virtually through Texas waterways.
Stroll along a Texas beach through the use of green screen technology.
