Event Details

Please join on Thursday May 26th from 8-10 pm for projections of a photographic exploration of the Past & Present 24th Street.

Christina Marie Klein’s 24th Street Archive is a reactivation of San Francisco’s visual history with nightly projections along storefronts of 24th street today.

The project’s goal is pure engagement of viewers outside the traditional gallery setting. Klein connects viewer’s present surroundings with archival images from the same location as sourced through the SF Main Public Library’s Historical Photo Collection.

Christina Marie Klein will be in conversation with speakers integral to her research and the success of the project. The projections will be on view nightly in the various storefronts as dusk falls and Residence/SF will be open to the public May 24-27 from 8-10 pm with rotating projected images.

26th May Reception Schedule:

  • 7 pm: Presentation by Christina Moretta (Photo Curator of the Historical Photo Collection at the SF public Library)
  • 8-10 pm: Refreshments and Viewing with guest speakers

Zines with maps and images will be available daily outside Residence/SF. Grab one and start exploring!
