About the Event-

St Francis Lutheran Church presents David Schofield in a short program of organ music followed by tea and scones. Sunday, November 6, 2022, 3pm at St. Francis Lutheran Church, 152 Church Street, San Francisco. Admission is free, donations accepted. The progam will also be live streamed on the church’s YouTube channel.
Organist David Schofield will present a program of works by J.S. Bach, Buxtehude, DeGrigny and Pachelbel based on the ancient plainsong hymn Veni Creator Spiritus. Members of the St. Francis Choir will sing the hymn in both Latin and German versions.

About the Artist-

David Schofield has performed on some of the country’s most notable organs, Riverside Church and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, Grace Cathedral and St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco, and Our Lady of the Angels Cathedral in Los Angeles. His performances of Bach have been featured on National Public Radio’s Pipedreams.
Dr. Schofield was Director of Music for the Catholic Chaplaincy at Columbia University and the Church of Notre Dame on the east campus before moving to San Francisco in 1999. In San Francisco, he was Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Dominic’s from 1999-2003. He has served as Music Director of St. Francis Lutheran Church since 2005.
