Trail & Habitat Volunteer Work: Restoring Laguna Honda’s Lost Trails | SF

Did you know that there’s another trail system in San Francisco? The trails have been off the radar for some time. SF Urban Riders is proud to announce that they’re working with the Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in improving the historic multi­ use trails.

This effort engages the community and new volunteers to build the trail, it also creates a new destination for visitors, is an asset to the Hospital community, and will become part of the larger San Francisco trail system that connects people in the City to a wild, inviting and educational open space.

Trail & Habitat Volunteer Work: Restoring Laguna Honda’s Lost Trails | SF

Word is out, Laguna Honda is the next amazing urban trail system for recreation and stress relief!

This months project scope:
The brush is cleared, so it is all about trail cutting, and final finish on the NEW reroute from Panoramic Ave down to the LH upper parking lot. It more than doubles the overall trail length on this section, and adds some amazing flow with spectacular views. Super fun day as all the materials (rock, gravel) are ready and staged, and like mentioned earlier but worth noting again the vegetation is already cleared.

Join us for trail work the Second Saturday of the month.
In case of heavy rain, check for updates before heading out.
