Event Details

The Sunday we meet this month, November 20th, is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Sunday Assembly East Bay takes this opportunity to raise visibility for transgender people and address some issues the community faces, while also celebrating that we all Live Better when everyone can be their true selves. Veda Cook will speak on the empathetic future we might anticipate with our increasingly transfriendly culture.

Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation that celebrates life. They’ve got the best parts of a church – community, singing, and acts of service – without any of the religious dogma.

They typically meet on the third Sunday of the month to sing, think, listen, laugh, and build community together. They feature speakers from the local science and humanities communities, and they typically offer a way to donate to a local organization.

The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation started in 2012 by two comedians and performers in England. It is a growing global network of people with the motto to “Live Better. Help Often. Wonder More.”
