Event Details

From writing letters to Santa Claus to reading A Christmas Carol and baking gingerbread men, there are several holiday traditions that, for many of us, are important to celebrating the winter holidays. You might be surprised to learn that some of these traditions were popularized in the 19th century.

The Camron-Stanford House is pleased to present A Very Victorian Christmas. We invite you to explore how different people in the United States celebrated the festive season throughout the 19th century, and learn about the history of a few of your most treasured holiday traditions.

Admission includes access to A Very Victorian Christmas exhibit in the lower galleries and a self-guided tour. Our self-guided tour got a holiday makeover! Roam our decorated halls and parlors and revel in holiday cheer while contemplating what celebrating the holidays may have looked like for the families who lived at the Camron-Stanford House.
