Event Details

Recognizing the need to stay engaged and inspired while maintaining social distancing during the COVID-19 crisis, the Asian Art Museum is shifting its programs to online platforms. While the museum is closed, we are hosting a range of virtual public programs to both connect with our audiences and support the work of our artistic and creative communities.

In advance of the premiere of new work at the Asian Art Museum later this year. The Bay Area–based hip-hop orchestra Ensemble Mik Nawooj showcases some of its “meta music” by sampling hip-hop and classical. Composer and artistic director JooWan Kim, resident emcee Sandman, and executive director Christopher Nicholas lead a conversation about the ensemble’s innovative musical style.

Register online (Sliding scale donation) and they’ll send you the Zoom login with confirmation email.
