With San Francisco Recreation and Parks, San Francisco Public Works’ Bureau of Urban Forestry will be hosting a Love Our City Neighborhood Beautification Day on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 in District 10 with New Street Trees for District 10!
The event is free and open to the public.
We’re looking for volunteers to help out. The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at Bayview KC Jones Playground, 1601 Armstrong Avenue (at 3rd Street). We’ll plant 75 young street trees and do some meaningful greening and cleaning throughout Bayview Hunters Point and other D10 neighborhoods.
We’re very excited to be planting more street trees in the Bayview and neighborhoods nearby. While San Francisco Public Works has made some meaningful progress in recent years, the Bayview still has one of the smallest tree canopies compared to other San Francisco neighborhoods, at 6.7%, while the City average is 13.7%.
Some helpful tips:
_Dress in layers
_Wear closed toe shoes and sunscreen
_Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
