Event Details

Broadcast from New York’s Mercury Theatre in 1938, this infamous radio play, based on the novel by H. G. Wells, had many terrified listeners convinced that an actual alien invasion of Earth was taking place. Adapted by Howard E. Koch, co-writer of Casablanca, and directed and narrated by Orson Welles, this original script detailing the frightening tale of an extraterrestrial takeover brings to life onstage a fully rendered live radio play just as it might have been produced by Orson Welles in 1938.

Performed live at Tabard Theatre, presented via multi-camera and live streamed directly to you in the comfort and safety of your own home. The performance is approximately two hours, including one intermission. Video preshow will start 30 minutes prior to the performance time.

Due to the pandemic, Tabard Theatre is closed to patrons, and currently operating as a broadcast studio only.
