On Saturday, October 23, at 1 p.m., the San Mateo County Historical Association will present Nicholas Veronico, who will speak on the history of the Greater San Francisco Speedway, an automobile racetrack, billed as the fastest in the United States when it was built in 1921 on 130 acres off the Bayshore in San Carlos. The program is part of the Historical Association’s “Courthouse Docket” lecture series sponsored by Cypress Lawn Heritage Foundation.
