Event Details

Artist Qinmin Liu misses the days when people had to actually talk to make connections — and she’s putting on a performance this weekend to try to bring them back.

This Saturday, Liu will spend eight-straight hours walking across San Francisco in an attempt to find physical connections in the city rather than the ones fabricated by programs accessed through a screen. Called  “Wire,”  Liu’s performance will begin at 10 am at Market Street Gallery (1554 Market) and end back at Market Street Gallery at 6 pm.

Liu got the idea for the project when she was sitting on the Muni and everyone whipped out their smartphones instead of interacting with those sitting next to them.
