How Women Artists Can Create Financial Abundance: Panel Discussion

NCWCA (Northern California Women’s Caucus for Art), in partnership with  Commonwealth Club World Affairs, will present “Creating Financial Abundance,” a panel discussion for women in the arts, on Tuesday, September 29 in San Francisco. The program runs 5 to 8 p.m. and focuses on fiscal management, budgeting, investment strategies, and resources to help women artists build toward financial security and wealth. An interactive audience session follows the panel, then a networking reception with refreshments sponsored by Schwab Corporation.

The panelists bring substantial experience in starting businesses, running an art practice as a business, and building wealth:

• Sheila Cunningham is an executive and business coach. Her focus is teaching practical tools which give businesses a solid grasp of financials, organizational management, and sales processes to increase profitability for small businesses. Sheila’s career has been spent studying successful and unsuccessful businesses as a reporter and editor at BusinessWeek magazine, as well as spending ten years in entrepreneurial ventures. Sheila is Trustee and Treasurer of the Mechanics’ Institute and a member of the Financial Women of San Francisco.

• Regina Tsai  is a Schwab Certified Financial Planner and Wealth Strategist who has been a senior wealth advisor since 2017. As a core member of a Schwab Wealth Advisory™ Team, she provides periodic investment recommendations and insights from the Schwab Center for Financial Research and works closely with each client’s Financial Consultant to help develop a personalized wealth management strategy that complements both short and long-term goals.

• Victoria Veedell is an award-winning, successful San Francisco-based landscape painter whose work explores the memory of place through light, atmosphere, and color. Veedell has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally and has participated in residencies around the world. She has received numerous prestigious awards for her art including the Director’s Choice Award at the Triton Museum of Art and has been selected for prestigious artist residencies in Greece, Iceland, Finland, Japan, India, Canada, Vermont, Virginia, and California.

• Debra Reabock, architectural photographer, NCWCA’s Outreach Chair, and the Commonwealth Club World Affairs, Women Empowering Women Member-led Forum Chair, will moderate the panel. Debra works at the intersection of art, business, and connection, using the camera to tell stories of sustainable design, transformation, and perspective that expand the viewer’s perception beyond the familiar.

The discussion will cover myths about women and money, describe how artists-as-entrepreneurs can develop financial fluency, and provide resources available to creatives to manage their financial lives and build generational wealth.

“I am excited that Commonwealth Club World Affairs is supporting women artists with this important discussion about creating financial abundance,” said Reabock about the upcoming talk. “Bringing together women who have achieved success in finance, business and art will help show the way forward for others on a similar path.”

This event is third in the popular “Women Empowering Women” event series created by Reabock for Commonwealth Club World Affairs in collaboration with NCWCA. The series’ theme encourages women to embrace challenges and create new pathways for achievement. The series will continue into 2027 with plans to feature a broad range of topics to expand the public’s perspective on the power of Bay Area women and how women’s accomplishments are empowering!
