World Dog Surfing Championship 2026 (Pacifica)

The World Dog Surfing Championships return to the Northern California coast, where the dog surfing competition concept originated, bringing together talented canine surfers from around the world. Both seasoned surf dogs and enthusiastic amateurs compete for top honors and the coveted Golden Surfie.

The free event features dog surfing competitions, tandem dog-and-human heats, a dog beach fashion and costume contest, pet adoptions, a Pet Wellness Fair, Surf Dog Village with partner booths and activities, and more.

The live, in-person championships take place at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, in the San Francisco Bay Area where the sport of dog surfing got its start. The event is free and open to spectators.

SURFING COMPETITION
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Entrant check-in: 9 a.m.
Dog surfing exhibitions and heats: 9:20 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Awards & prizes: 1:30-2 p.m.

PET WELLNESS FAIR
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Get your dog wellness tips, including nails, teeth, weight, fitness, massage and veterinary questions.

SURF DOG VILLAGE
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Browse partner booths, vendors and dog-friendly activities.

MOBILE PET ADOPTIONS
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Meet adoptable dogs through participating rescue organizations, including Rocket Dog Rescue and Peninsula Humane Society.

BEACH DOG FASHION & COSTUME CONTEST
Noon-1 p.m.
Free entry. Registration is available at the designated booth.

YAPPY HOUR
4-6 p.m.
