WritersCorps youth poets and teaching artists will share the stage with award-winning poet, educator, playwright, and screenwriter Chinaka Hodge. Hodge will read from her new work.
The reading will showcase WritersCorps students past and present from all walks of life. Teaching artists Maddy “MADlines” Clifford and Annie Rovzar will also be sharing their work.
Prior to the free reading, Teen Art Connect interns will lead WritersCorps’ students on a tour of their latest exhibit and later enjoy a private reading by Chinaka Hodge. Students will share a meal and chat with Chinaka about being a writer.
In the past 21 years, WritersCorps has placed 97 writers at 64 sites in San Francisco, published 173 books, and performed with the most respected authors of the time.
