Event Details

Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.

Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.

Yellow Bike Project | Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Even (or especially) if you know nothing about how bikes work, come to the shop for a hands-on tutorial on how to maintain your bike every Wednesday in June 2013 from 2-5 pm.

Or volunteer with them to receive a free education in bike mechanics while helping to get more rideable bikes on the streets of San Francisco. Volunteer your time, and get hand-on experience learning and fixing up the bikes they have.

San Francisco Yellow Bike Project is a volunteer-powered, community bike shop.
