ZYZZYVA, San Francisco’s acclaimed literary journal, hosts its annual Winter Issue Celebration/Holiday Party at The Booksmith on Wednesday, December 10, 2014.

Featuring readings from Issue No. 102 contributors Michael Jaime-Becerra, Kate Petersen, Andrew Gavin Murphy, Lucille Lang Day, and Andrew David King, and with the promise of drinks and snacks and ZYZZYVA give-aways for those in attendance, it’s a free literary event that’s also a spirited night of holiday cheer.

2014 featured readings:

Michael Jaime-Becerra is the author of the story collection Every Night Is Ladies Night, winner of a California Book Award, and the novel This Time Tomorrow.

Lucille Lang Day’s memoir, Married at Fourteen: A True Story, received a 2013 PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Literary Award. She lives in Oakland.

Andrew Gavin Murphy is an MFA student at San Francisco State University. His poem “The Vultures at Olema Marsh” in the Winter issue marks his first poem in print.

Kate Petersen is a Stegner Fellow at Stanford. She lives in San Francisco.

Andrew David King studies literature and philosophy at the University of California at Berkeley, wherehe was awarded the Eisner Prize in Literature in 2013 and 2014.
