17 atlg1 250x175 Cinema Drafthouse: Movie & Beer Zombieland | The IndependentNormally a concert venue, The Independent hosts movie nights on Monday nights with a screening of the surpisingly watchable 2009 film “Zombieland” about and unlikely pairing of nerds and sexpots roaming the working kicking zombie ass.

There’s a two-drink minimum on movie nights, but we’ve never seen it strictly enforced.

Zombieland (2009): Guilty-pleasure movies should not be underestimated. I had a scary-fun-house blast at Zombieland, in which studly Woody Harrelson, nerdy Jesse Eisenberg, sexy Emma Stone and sunshiny Abigail Breslin roam a near-dead world kicking zombie ass. Director Ruben Fleischer mixes fright and slapstick with bloody glee. And the surprise star cameo is a wowser. Enough said.
