The Dutch community in San Francisco invites you to celebrate Queen’s Day 2012 on April 28th near the Dutch Windmill and the Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden in Golden Gate Park – A full day free festival celebrating the restoration of Golden Gate Park’s Windmills, with bike parade, free tours, live music, tulips, flea market and all things dutch.

Queen’s Day 2012 | Activities

  • Bike-ride “Market to Mill” – traditional Dutch bike ride starting at 9:30am
  • Walking tour Golden Gate Park by City Guides
  • Official opening Murphy’s Mill
  • Classical music concert at Park Chalet
  • Flea market
  • Children’s games
  • Soccer for kids
  • Commercial market
  • Live entertainment by Once Again (Band) and DJ Marc van Brabant
  • Food and beer garden

Official Opening Murphy’s Windmill
At 11:00am, SF Recreation and Parks and the Netherlands Consulate will officially open the Murphy’s Windmill and Millwrights Cottage in Golden Gate Park. There will be a exposition in the Cottage about windmills and sustainable energy. After the opening, we will walk through the park towards the Dutch Windmill at JFK Drive (blocked from Ocean Drive to 47th Avenue) for the festive Queen’s Day program.
