Commemorate the 152nd anniversary of the Civil War at Camp Reynolds on Angel Island State Park during their annual “Civil War Days.

Explore the 1863 Union Army post at Camp Reynolds and become recruits to the Union Army and try their hand at baking army bread and learning other soldierly skills.

There will be exciting mock battles between Union and Confederate forces each day by historic re-enactors and park volunteers on the parade ground at 12:30 pm.

Captain Maggie encourages everyone to take part in this free event taking place at Camp Reynolds located on Angel Island State Park offering the public a rare opportunity to experience Angel Island State Park’s “living history” through live demonstrations and activities the whole family will enjoy such as:

  • Experience Cannon firings and Camp Reynolds tours throughout the day
  • Meet the ladies working in the camp kitchen and take in the aroma of bread baking
  • Show your support for the Union Army by coloring your own flag to take home

The event is free to attend, but the cost of ferry to Angel Island varies according to where you take off from.
