The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc., San Francisco’s beloved and satirical drag nuns are delighted to invite the community to celebrate our 46th Anniversary at Easter in the Park. In recognition of our trans brothers and sisters who are under seige, the theme is “No Easter Without The T”
The festivities begin at 10:30am on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Dolores Park with Children’s Easter, featuring an egg hunt and (of course) the Easter Bunny. The stage show begins at noon with special guests, Sister rituals, live music, performances by some of the city’s best drag and trans talent, and the legendary Easter Bonnet, Foxy Mary, and Hunky Jesus contests.
The Sisters’ Easter in the Park is FREE, and all are welcome. Sisters will collect donations to help cover expenses and contribute to our Community Grants Fund, supporting organizations and worthy causes throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Donations to support The Sisters’ work can be made by making a meaningful gift at https://www.thesisters.org/donate.
Children’s Easter
The Easter Bunny welcomes parents and their little ones to Children’s Easter on the east side of the park’s north field (nearest to the corner of 18th and Dolores). Activities include an Easter egg hunt, bunny run relay games, story time, and a performance by Cheer SF, starting at 10:30 AM.
Main Stage
The main stage opens at noon, featuring emcees Honey Mahogany, Alex U. Inn, and Sister Roma. In keeping with this year’s theme, “No Easter Without The T,” the live show will feature a stellar lineup of transgender and gender-nonconforming performers, including trans opera star Breanna Elyse Sinclair, Ronnie Reddick Presents “I’m Every Woman” featuring The Ladies of AsiaSF 2.0, Trans and Drag King Hip Hop legends The Momma’s Boyz featuring Ariel B. and Lambert, and San Francisco favorite Pansy Division.
Hunky Jesus, Foxy Mary, and Bonnet Contests
As always, all are invited to enter the Hunky Jesus, Foxy Mary, and Bonnet Contests. When contests are announced from the stage, contestants should report backstage in their bonnets or Mary or Jesus persona.
Pro Tip: Well-conceived, clever characterizations or concepts for Foxy Mary and Hunky Jesus always get the best response. Due to time constraints groups are discouraged, and there will be a pre-screening of all contestants. Finalists will be invited onstage for the audience to decide the winner of each contest.
Producing Easter in the Park is possible each year because of the dedication of dozens of volunteers. This year, with the help of their technology partner, Do Good Stuff, the Sisters have deployed a shiny new volunteer management platform to organize and activate their dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers. Anyone can help the Sisters out and sign up to volunteer at Easter in the Park by going to www.thesisters/volunteers.
