Roaring Camp | 5355 Graham Hill Road Felton, CA
Roaring Camp Railroads hosts a day old-timey 4th of July activities in Felton in the Santa Cruz Mountains for 2012.
The historic railroad camp (which features two historic narrow-gage railroads) celebrates 4th of July with a Sock Hop and ’50s family 4th of July featuring hula hoop contests, games, live music and a BBQ. The festivities are free, but there is a parking charge and the food is available for purchase.
Is this event Free for 2012? In past years’ the sock hop, games and contests were free (but you had to pay for parking) – for 2012 we’ve called Roaring Camp and they’ve told us there are no July 4th festivities for 2012 even though their website says there are under their 2012 calendar. We “think” that they are just trying to discourage people from coming for free because they want people to buy train tickets.
>> Because of this discrepancy, we highly recommend that you call Roaring Camp first before heading out there. 831-335- 4484
Worth the Splurge: Great Train Robberies
Wednesday July 4, 2012
Hide your pocketbooks and valuables because notorious outlaws from the 1880s are sure to hold up Roaring Camp’s steam trains as they reach the top of Bear Mountain. Shootouts, skirmishes and other blazing reenactments bring the Wild West to life. Train ride tickets are around $26 with discounts for children.
