Watch the Super Bowl with a burning mouth at the 5th annual Stupor Bowl Heavy Metal Chili Cookoff at the Bottom of the Hill on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, 2013.

The Bottom of the Hill will be showing the game on the big screen, but the main attraction will be the chili competition.

To compete, be the the first 20 to RSVP to chili@bottomofthehill.com. Bring four quarts of your best chili in a crockpot between 1-2 pm, and give it a unique heavy metal name.

In past years, after the main judges have had their tastes, the public is invited to try each chili and then vote.

Prizes will be awarded at halftime for best chili, best chili (popular vote), and best heavy metal name (popular vote). 2010′s winning name was “Nordic Flesh Fest,” a white chili.

Live music from the Whoever on the patio, in case Beyoncé halftime show is a bore.
Doors open at 1 pm. Chili at 2:30 pm. Game at 3:30 pm. Free admission for all ages.
If you’re not bringing chili, please feel free to bring another food to share.
