Event Details

Join the San Francisco Opera’s Director of Music Administration, Dr. Clifford Cranna, for his talk on Puccini’s final opera “Turandot” on Monday, September 19.

Learn more from Dr. Cranna about this story (which was banned for decades in China) of a cold, cruel Chinese princess who challenges suitors with three riddles, and how Puccini went through great lengths to imitate Chinese melodies and adapt this Central Asian fairytale into his last opera.

This event is free and open to the public, though reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (415) 422-6828.
