2022 San Francisco Succulent + Cactus Annual Show and Sale (June 18-19)

The San Francisco Succulent and Cactus Society (SFSCS) will hold its 2022 Show and Plant Sale on June 18 and 19, at the San Francisco County Fair Building (1199-9th Ave. at Lincoln Way). The show’s theme is “Together at Last” and it will feature a wide variety of mixed succulent container plantings. Admission is free and open to the public Saturday June 18, from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday June 19, 9am to 5pm. Society members get early access Friday June 17, 3pm to 7pm, and Saturday June 18, 9am-10am. We encourage you to bring your own boxes to shop and carry your new plants home.

The sale is the largest of its kind in Northern California and will include succulents, cacti, and bromeliads from more than 25 boutique nurseries and growers. One of the vendors will offer hand-crafted studio pottery made especially for succulents. Drawings will be held throughout the day for attendees’ chance to win a plant.

A separate area for a juried show will feature a wide-ranging display of mature cactus and succulent clusters, rarely-seen species, and succulent bonsai to inspire and educate attendees. The theme reflects the show’s focus on multi-plant groupings and the two-year hiatus due to Covid.
The event will include experts providing plant selection, care and growing advice, and habitat and conservation information. Proceeds support the SFSCS’s monthly programs and further its mission of education, conservation, and propagation.

The San Francisco Succulent and Cactus Society (SFSCS) is a non-profit educational organization promoting the study, conservation, and cultivation of succulent and xerophytic plants. The SFSCS meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm in Golden Gate Park at The County Fair Building (Hall of Flowers) at 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way in San Francisco. The general meetings feature educational lectures, displays, and plant sales. The society also publishes a monthly newsletter for its members.
