About Heather White

Heather White is the founder of OneGreenThing. White’s twenty-plus years of service include being a litigator at a prominent Nashville law firm, working for Al Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign and then as a recount attorney, advising a progressive US senator on energy and environmental policy, directing environmental education advocacy at the nation’s largest conservation organization, serving as an adjunct law professor at Georgetown University Law Center, running an environmental health watchdog in Washington, DC, and leading the nonprofit partner to Yellowstone National Park. She’s a frequent spokesperson on environmental issues and has been featured on CBS, PBS, ABC, NBC, Fox News, and quoted in the Washington Post, the New York Times, and The Guardian.
A native of East Tennessee, she loves country music, apple butter, and hiking. White received her bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Virginia, where she was an Echols Scholar. She earned her juris doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was managing editor of the Tennessee Law Review. She lives in Bozeman, Montana, with her husband and two teenage daughters.
