Covers can be designed with intricate finishing details, minimalist with only the titles, or, as in the case of artist Carolee Jakes, screen printed with unique designs. Carolee Jakes is a painter and printmaker from Northern Virginia and the head of Dead Run Studio in McLean, Virginia. Carolee’s work can be found in the collections of the Pew Charitable Trust, the National Gallery of Art: Corcoran Collection, and the Library of Congress Rare Books Collection, as well as in private collections in the United States and Greece. Jakes currently teaches printmaking at the Washington Waldorf School, Bethesda, MD.
