Event Details

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture is excited to present the world premiere of DIASPORADICA, an immersive experience from the experimental collective RUPTURE, coming to the Festival Pavilion August 22-30! The work explores Black kinship, belonging, and artistic embodiment in a new way. This isn’t just a show you watch–it’s a communal experience that brings everyone together.

This 3-hour, captivating experience transforms Pier 3 into a world of “shipwrecks, sirens, techno, and Spades”, where the audience becomes part of the story. Think contemporary dance meets installation meets community ritual.

Here’s what to expect:

**KICKBACK** – An invitation to leisure and gameplay that establishes intimacy between performers and audience

**PERFORMANCE** – Collective choreography and storytelling

**FUNCTION** – The space becomes a club environment, positioning dance as “a communal, spiritual technology”

“DIASPORADICA represents everything we believe about the power of collective creation,” says Clarissa Rivera Dyas, RUPTURE founding member. “We’re not just presenting a performance – we’re creating a space where the audience becomes part of the ritual, where the boundaries between performer and community dissolve. This work asks: What happens when we center Black joy, Black imagination, and Black futurity in ways that invite everyone into that vision?”

**PERFORMANCES:**
Friday 8/22 & Saturday 8/23
Friday 8/29 & Saturday 8/30
All shows 7pm
