We will walk through 64 acres starting at Pine Lake Park.We trek through Sigmund Stern Grove Park.
We search for wildlife through an elongated valley theough steep forested slopes around one of the last natural lakes with turtles in San Francisco.
We will see willow, tule, and other wetland plants around the lake which provide habitat for a variety for resident and migratory bird species.
Eventually we arrive at the beautiful amphitheater on the hillside surrounded by a forest of magnificent trees.
We finish up at an amazing redwood and eucalyptus grove that once was part of the old Trocadero ranch.
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING?
A backpack that contains layers of clothing, hat, sunscreen and water. It is best to wear hiking boots as we ascend through slippery steep sandy inclines with uneven terrain while traversing.
