Oakland Sin Fronteras is a coalition that has a long-standing tradition of organizing recognition and celebration of International Workers’ Day (also known as May Day!) in Oakland.

While the United States is one of the few countries that doesn’t recognize May 1st as International Workers’ Day, each year our communities join millions of others across the world in uplifting working peoples’ struggles against the oppression and exploitation of peoples, lands, and nations. This year, we will continue that tradition and echo calls for the end to the violence of racism, imperialism, and capitalism. We also mark May 1st as a celebration of working people globally and their enduring struggles for justice, democracy, right relation to land, self-determination, and liberation.

We are committed to organizing and defending against the U.S. government’s racist and xenophobic attacks on immigrants that are tearing families and communities apart, particularly undocumented people. We stand against any travel restrictions or bans against refugees, Arabs, Muslims, and all migrants or visitors. Human rights and sanctuary for all from deportations and all forms of state violence!

Why a Resource Fair

From the increasing criminalization of houselessness, to city workers facing mass layoffs, to shameful inequalities in the cost of living, to disappearing funding for resource centers and social services vital to working people– profit-before-people policies and priorities have brought our beautiful city to a tipping point. Following our May 1st march, we will hold a resource fair by and for Oakland’s working communities. The resource fair will try to fill some of the gap confronting our communities, provide some services, and give people opportunity for further involvement aimed at changing our conditions.

We invite you to table as a part of the resource fair. Please share your knowledge, goods, services and other offerings with our community. If interested in tabling please indicate so in this form.
