Free Movies in the Park | Oakland

Movies in the Park is back with family friendly films in the park by the Redwood Heights Recreation Center in Oakland.

Popcorn and hot chocolate are available for sale. Dress warm and bring a lawn chair and or blanket. You will want to bring some mosquito spray as well.

Proceeds support scholarships for the center’s after-school programs and summer camp.

Movies begin at dusk on the lawn outside the recreation center.

Please Note: Movies may be cancelled due to bad weather. Please do not bring alcohol, drugs or dogs; they’re not allowed in the park. Check the website often, as they hope to add a movie or two throughout the season.

Scaling the Cliffs of Insanity, battling Rodents of Unusual Size, facing torture in the Pit of Despair, The Princess Bride is director Rob Reiner’s comic fantasy of a perpetually kidnapped and rescued princess.

The film features an all-star cast including Christopher Guest, Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Billy Crystal, Andre the Giant, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Peter Cook, Wallace Shawn, Fred Savage, and Peter Falk.
