Play, learn, be inspired, hear live music, watch films, eat delicious food, shop and take action at Earth Day Marin, a fun, free festival promoting action on climate change solutions and celebrating the environmental health and sustainability.

2014 Activities:

  • 10 am: Join a fun and flat group bike ride to Earth Day Marin from The Bicycle Works in San Anselmo. Valet bicycle parking will be provided by Marin County Bicycle Coalition.
  • Tim Cain will kick off the event with a song and dance party for kids, followed by Green Songwriting Contest finalists with MCs Diana Dehm of Sustainability News & Entertainment Radio and Mark Le Mon of West Coast Songwriters.
  • Music by Swiss star Sareena Overwater and “Singular Voice” Lucia Comnes
  • 2 pm: Water Rally with Marin Municipal Water District with Americana Jam sensation Alice DiMicele
  • 2:40 pm: Shore Up Marin forum on Sea Level Rise
  • Films include Gary Yost’s The Invisible Peak narrated by Peter Coyote and mini documentaries on Marin Clean Energy
  • Marin Carbon Project’s John Wick, MMWD Board President Armando Quintero, Citizen’s Climate Lobby’s Dr. Peter G. Joseph, and Lisa Hoyos of Climate Parents will speak
  • Authors include Juliana Birnbaum, Terri Glass, William Carney, Raymond Welch, Mary Reynolds Thompson, and Patti Breitman
  • Award winning storytellers include Alicia Retes, Kirk Waller, Erica Lann-Clark and Garth Gilchrist
  • Greenwood School students present Sea Party with educational games for kids; Redwood High School students offer tours of their organic farm
  • Plus, extensive exhibitors, hands-on activities, puppet shows, yoga for kids, and more
  • Attendees take measurable and meaningful actions on site. The first 500 to take water conservation measures with Marin Municipal Water District win stainless steel water bottles.
  • Computer & Technology Resource Center will accept ewaste
