The Ninth Annual March to End Poverty at Oakland’s Lake Merritt bandstand aims to raise awareness about the social conditions of the 173,156 Alameda County residents who live in poverty.
Free, but an RSVP is requested.
The first 400 marchers who bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Alameda County Community Food Bank will receive a free t-shirt. After the March, there will be a Community Resource Fair connecting vital services to residents.
Activities include live entertainment, children’s zone and free boating.
2014 Program
- 9 am: Registration at Lake Merritt Bandstand (666 Bellevue Ave. behind Fairyland)
- 10 am: March & Rally begins
- 11 am: Community Fair
