Join San Francisco Public Works for a day of greening and neighborhood pride in District 5 (Western Addition, Tenderloin, SOMA, and more).
Our goal is to plant 100+ trees in 1 day and we need your help! Volunteers will be assigned to 10-15 teams and plant street trees in District 5. This event is rain-or-shine.
Trees help reduce storm-water runoff, clean the air and provide habitat for birds and butterflies. Plus bring lots of beauty and shade to our urban streetscape among many other benefits!
What to Expect
- The event kicks off at Civic Center Secondary School yard (650 McAllister St) with registration between 8:30 AM and 9 AM.
- We’ll hold a short speaking program to go over the day’s activities and get a quick safety overview.
- Volunteers and Public Works staff then will head to their assigned work sites.
- Work will take place for about 3 hours, with everyone returning to the kickoff location around noon.
- Free sandwiches will be served to registered volunteers. Volunteers can enjoy Arbor Day Fair.
