“Bay Area Discovery Museum” Free Day

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is a one-of-a-kind indoor and outdoor children’s museum at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge.

COVID-19 Update – As of 9/14/20 the museum IS open, but for outdoor spaces only. Advanced timed tickets required.

Only outdoor spaces are open. All of our outdoor exhibits such as Giant Instrument Walk, Lookout Cove and Faith are open and ready to explore. While our indoor spaces are closed for now, we have exciting new programs to bring your outdoor museum experience to life, such as Paint our Village and Building Challenge.

Hands-on kits, such as those used for the Building Challenge, are checked out individually and cleaned between uses. Throughout the site, you’ll notice our already robust cleaning policies have been updated. All spaces and surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized every two hours.

The Museum is the only children’s museum in the U.S. to be located in a national park and is known for its emphasis on creativity through play and programs featuring hands-on art, science and environmental exhibitions, performances, special events, cultural festivals, and more.

Foster a lifelong love for creativity, science and art through a free visit to the museum this month, and have your kids learn about everything from spaceships to sand art.
