Friday Nights at the de Young is a free after-hour “happening” that changes every week but typically includes a mix of live music, poetry, films, dance and talks. Season Eight is every Friday night from March 30 – November 23, 2012.

Walk in and experience all public programs for free. But to view the permanent collection or special exhibitions, admission tickets are required.

Friday Nights at the de Young | April 6, 2012

  • This fabulous evening is hosted and curated by PEACHES CHRIST featuring a Fantastical Fashion Show and a Calvalcade of Costumes and Performance. 
  • Visitors are invited to make their own Gaultier-inspired jewelry with Crafty Artist — Haute Gloo
  • Film Screening of “Falbalas” directed by Jacques Becker, 111 mins, France, 1944, B&W, French with English subtitles. Apart from the stunningly beautiful clothes provided by couturier Marchel Rochas, the film stars the radiant Micheline Presle. She is the object of two men’s affections, tormented fashion designer Pierre Clarence, and her husband to be, silk manufacturer Jean. Featuring Raymond Rouleau, Jean Chevrier and Gabrielle Dorziat.
