The parts of beauty that can feel degrading or the tears that materialize from the most wretched joy are some of the ingredients that make up the Between. These are considered to be the binding agents of Beauty & Horror, moments in life that can be difficult to distinguish discomfort and suffering from pleasure.

Leila Weefur and Aggregate Space Gallery present Between Beauty & Horror, a short film, presented as a diptych within an installation, exploring the violent, grotesque, and erotic elements of the Black experience. The work engages the senses by using the Blackberry fruit as a metaphor for Black being and explores the lived experiences that show up in the shadows of terror only to reveal themselves as a gifts in disguise.
