AMC & Cinemark Movie Theaters Reopening March 5
Thanks to KRON4 for sharing the news that movie theater chains AMC and Cinemark are both reopening on Friday, March 5, 2021, in both San Francisco and Santa Clara counties.
Although you are now free to catch a flick, you can’t munch on any popcorn yet in San Francisco. Food and drink concession stands are currently banned (presumably since you would need to take your mask off to eat).
Back on 2020 Santa Clara County also banned concession stands, but it’s unclear if there is any ban currently – the official Santa Clara red tier page doesn’t mention anything about banning concessions.
Plus expect lots of space…. the state’s “red tier” means theaters in both counties have a maximum 25% capacity (or 100 people) whichever is fewer.
