The “Beer Mile” World Classic

SF hosts this ESPN-approved “Sport.” Drink 4 beers, run 4 laps as fast as you can

World Champions from USA, Canada and Australia square off for world beer mile domination by drinking a full-sized beer, running a quarter mile, then repeating the process three times – and they do it in under 5 minutes. Yes, this is a “sport” ESPN even did a feature on it.

There will be music, beer stands, food stands, lawn games like Giant Jenga, Giant Beer Pong, and Cornhole, and exciting events happening throughout the day. Your doctor probably won’t approve, but their menu is scientifically proven enhance the beer mile experience: Pulled Pork Poutine, Chocolate Coated Bacon, Fish and Chips, BBQ Chicken Drums, Grilled Chili Dogs, Buffalo Mushrooms, and Jumbo S’mores.

You can also try to finish a beer mile yourself (4 beers in 4 laps – a combination of the toughest/funnest mile ever). The public “fun” beer miles start around 2 pm, and the world classic champs will be go off between 5:30-6:30 pm with World Record Holder James “The Beast” Nielsen.

1 PM: Festival Opens: lawn games (Giant Jenga, Giant Beer Pong, Cornhole…sitting and sipping beer) race-day registration begins, beer and food available
2:30 PM: Social Beer Mile (untimed, beers can be substituted for sit-ups, push-ups, burpees)
3:10 PM Chug and Run Team Competition (Two-person teams)
3:40 PM Competitive Beer Mile
4:00 PM Masters (40+ Men and Women and Clydesdales Men over 200lbs)
4:30 PM San Francisco Classic…Sub-Elite Field
International Ceremony Begins
> 5:00 PM Women’s Beer Mile World Classic
> 5:30 PM Men’s Beer Mile World Classic (The big race with 3 former world record holders)
6:00 PM Relay Races (4 Laps, 4 Beers, 4 People)
