The Bay Area’s very first Hello Kitty Cafe has officially opened at Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, bringing a burst of pink and nostalgia to one of the region’s busiest malls. The themed cafe is part of the shopping center’s ongoing $1.1 billion expansion and is located near Bloomingdale’s, drawing large crowds of fans eager to get their hands on Hello Kitty treats and exclusive merch.

The grand opening weekend, which ran July 11–13, featured long lines, meet-and-greets with Hello Kitty, and limited giveaways for the first 100 visitors each day. Now that the launch festivities are over, the cafe is open for regular service, offering a rotating menu that includes afternoon tea, espresso drinks, Dole Whip soft serve, and freshly made mini donuts. Guests can enjoy both indoor and patio seating surrounded by Hello Kitty-themed décor.

This Santa Clara outpost joins just a handful of Hello Kitty Cafes in California, with others in Irvine and Universal City.
