Yes, it really has been terrible this year.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reports that as of Monday, September 7th, there is a nearly 2000% increase in the acres of burned by fire year-to-date from 2019.

The “good” news is that the LNU Lightning Complex fire (Napa/Sonoma/Solano) is now 92% contained, the SCU fire (Contra Costa/Alameda/Santa Clara) is 96% contained and the CZU fire (San Mateo/Santa Cruz) is 83% contained.

The bad news is that the Creek Fire in Fresno County rages on with 0% containment and the Oak Fire in Mendocino has a 10% containment.

Oh, and day has turned to night and the sky is a dark orange all over the Bay Area.
